Need some inspiration for breakfast? Or even breakfast for dinner? Why not whip up some delicious sourdough pancakes with blueberries on top!
We like to load ours up with sliced bananas, yogurt, and chopped pecans topping it off with a drizzle of Pure Birch Syrup or Alaska Breakfast Syrup over the whole thing. I don’t know about you, but my mouth is watering just writing this up.
If you’ve never had a sourdough starter, I suggest trying it out sometime. You can gift yourself or a friend our Alaska Sourdough Basket and get everything you need to make a delicious breakfast. Sourdough pancakes add that sour tang that is ever so wonderful with birch syrup.

Whip up our easy sourdough starter or use our Alaska Barley 10 Grain Blueberry Mix to make one amazing pancake.
EXPERT’S TIP: Be sure your starter is active and at room temperature before trying to make your pancakes. I suggest feeding your starter 12-24 hours before making pancakes to make a thick batter. I prefer to feed my starter half white flour and half whole wheat pastry flour. You could even use the Alaska Barley 10 Grain Blueberry mix to feed your starter!
