Since 1990 we’ve been crafting birch syrup from the boreal birch forests outside Talkeetna, Alaska. Our Kahiltna Gold Alaska pure birch syrup, named for the Dena’ina Athabascan word meaning “from the source” embodies the purity and richness of the Alaskan wilderness. In spring, as the ground thaws and nature awakens, we tap thousands of wild birch trees and carefully collect their nutrient-rich sap, which is then slowly evaporated to preserve its bold depth and nuanced flavors. It takes over 110gallons of birch sap to produce just one gallon of syrup, making this an exceptionally limited and precious ingredient.

RESERVE is harvested on the very first day of the season, yielding an exceptionally light, smooth, and delicate syrup with floral and honey-like notes. EARLY RUN (previously called First Run) is made from sap harvested at the very start of the season. Our Early Run is the lightest and sweetest, with delicate caramel and molasses notes. Its smooth flavor makes it perfect for drizzling over pancakes, yogurt, and desserts or adding a touch of Alaskan depth to cocktails or mocktails.
MID RUN is a transition between early and late harvest and lasts only a few days. Our Mid Run strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and depth, with rich toffee-like flavors and a bright, tangy finish.
