Salmonberries
From Birch to Berries – Summer 2018 comes to a close
It’s August and our short Alaska summer is flying by! We have had a warm and sunny summer in Talkeetna, but the August rains have settled in the past few days. The gardens are thriving, the berry season is coming on and our Talkeetna Taste and Tour Shop and our kitchen have been crankin’ busy. We are seeing blueberries, lingonberries, and rosehips ripening in the woods around us, and we are looking forward to receiving a lot of deliveries soon from pickers across the state. After a poor 2017 harvest, we are happy to report that we just got our first salmonberries of the year in from Kodiak! See our Jams page.
Come visit us, in person or on line!
It’s not too late to stop by and say hello when you are in the area – or make a special trip to visit Talkeetna and to see us! Taste our goods from the woods; stock up for the season or ship some goodies home. If getting to our shop is not an option for you, then enjoy browsing and shopping on our website.
From Michael and Dulce and all of us here in Alaska – Happy Summer or Fall, wherever you are!
